[ARCHIVED] Dallas County outlines 'Rules for Reopened Services' in latest order

Dallas County seal

FBTX ~ Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has offered an outline of Rules for Reopened Services in his latest update to the Stay Home Stay Safe order, issued today.

Effective at 12:01 a.m. Friday, retail services previously not classified as "essential businesses" will be allowed through pickup, delivery by mail or delivery to the customer’s doorstep. The retail locations remain closed to the public. Employees of these retail businesses must engage in cleaning, disinfecting, use of face coverings and keeping social distance.

Rules for "Retail-To-Go" include payments to be made over the phone or internet. Purchased items should be delivered to the backseat or trunk of a customer’s vehicle to minimize physical contact and employees must wash their hands after any customer interaction.

When delivering goods to a customer’s residence or business, purchased items should be delivered by employees or third party carriers to the customer’s residence or business, without entering the premises.

Delivery by mail will be just that, without customer contact.
