New Service Center construction proceeding ahead of schedule

New Service Center construction progress

FBTX ~ Years in the making and now under construction in the shadow of the West Side Water Tower on Keenan Bridge Road, the new Keenan Service Center is currently running ahead of schedule, according to Fleet & Facilities Director Kevin Muenchow.

March 1 is the projected completion date for the project. Currently, exterior masonry is 25 percent complete. Concrete around the building and the access road has been completed. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC work is in progress. Additionally, fire sprinkler system is 85 percent complete while gas and power to the building is still to come. Dry wall inside is up and currently being prepped for Service Center rendering

Although running ahead of schedule right now, Mr. Muenchow noted that potential winter weather could affect the schedule.

The new facility on Keenan Bridge will relocate fleet operations from the much older, outdated and undersized Service Center on Senlac Drive.
