FBTX ~ Helping to detail the ever-expanding activity of this dynamic community group, Farmers Branch Parks Landscape Manager Pam Smith talks about "Keep Farmers Branch Beautiful" and some of their recent projects as part of the new edition of "Cultivating the Branch."
Among their recent projects, KFBB sponsored a workday at the Farmers Branch Community Garden and a separate cleanup day at the John F. Burke Nature Preserve. At the Community Garden, student volunteers from Newman Smith High School assisted in replacing aging bed borders with concrete blocks, along with weeding, composting and harvesting.
At the Nature Preserve, students from Ted Polk Middle School (pictured) fanned out to collect 21 bags of trash, including a tire rim and an old traffic cone.
