FBTX ~ With impeccable credentials and a track record of success, Mike Mashburn has been promoted to Director of Parks & Recreation, according to City Manager Charles Cox.

After earning his degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, with a minor in Business Administration from California State University in Sacramento, Mr. Mashburn began his career as a Recreation Coordinator for the Cosumnes Community Services District in Elk Grove, California. He quickly rose through the Parks and Recreation ranks with other employment stops at the City of West Sacramento, California and the City of Keller, Texas. Along the way he picked up a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Mr. Mashburn said his goal in the Director's office is to improve on an already great product. "I want our department to operate in the most efficient manner possible in an effort to streamline expenses," he said. "We are already hitting many of the marks we planned to, but can always improve."

"Mike represents the future of the Parks and Recreation Department," said Farmers Branch City Manager Charles Cox. "His demonstrated record of achievement should serve this storied department well and uphold the legacy he now inherits."
