The standard adoption fee is $85 for animals over the age of 6 months. The adoption fee for animals under 6 months is $100. This covers the sterilization surgery, vaccines, microchipping and a heartworm test (if over the age of 6 months), as well as a flea treatment and the first dose of heartworm prevention. Dogs who are heartworm positive will be treated by the shelter after adoption, please see shelter staff for more information.
All animals will be neutered or spayed and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough) before going home with a new owner. If your new pet is under 12 weeks old at the time of adoption we will require you to submit proof of rabies vaccine when they are old enough.
We test dogs over the age of 7 months for heartworm disease. Heartworm positive dogs can be adopted! We treat heartworm here at the shelter at no charge to the adopter based on a schedule set by our supervising veterinarian.
Our website is up to date in real time, so if a dog's photo is showing, they are still here! However, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so you may want to call on your way if there is an animal in which you have a special interest. Unfortunately, we cannot hold animals.
*If you already have dogs in your home, it is strongly recommended that you do a supervised "meet-n-greet" with your dogs and the shelter dog of your choice. Meet-n-greets are performed by appointment in order to ensure we have the appropriate staff available.
