In the unfortunate event of a fire, the Fire Prevention Division is responsible for conducting the fire investigation. If the fire is determined to be intentionally set, the investigator will file charges and make arrests through the criminal process.

When conducting fire inspections and plan review, the fire prevention officers utilize the 2015 International Fire Code and other referenced codes and standards, City Ordinance and Fire Department policies to ensure that each building and operation meets required fire and life safety requirements.
