Welcome to all we have to offer for out summer camp programming at Farmers Branch! From specialty camps at our Farmers Branch Historical Park to a traditional all-inclusive day camp experience at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, there’s a camp for every child right here in Farmers Branch! We even offer teen summer programs that are designed to develop their leadership skills. Sign your child up to make memories while spending his or her summer at the Branch!

Program Update

Operations at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center have been suspended since March 13 in an effort to halt the spread of the coronavirus. With a fluid re-opening date of the Recreation Center, registration for the Summer Funshine and Teen Leadership Programs is currently on hold. Program Description

Sign your child up for a journey into the wild this summer! We are going to be exploring the great outdoors and have fun and exciting activities planned around outdoor recreation! Summer Funshine is an all-inclusive day recreational day camp offered by the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center program for children ages 6-12 (must be 6 years old as of May 29, 2020). Our camp experience includes:

  • Summer camp t-shirt to wear throughout the season
  • Free breakfast and lunch most days through CFBISD’s Summer Food Service Program
  • Exciting field trips to some of the coolest places in the DFW
  • Snacks throughout the day
  • Fun activities like swimming, arts and crafts, fitness programs and other excitement

Farmers Branch Resident registration begins March 2 | Non-resident registration begins (if space is available) April 1

Registration link: Ages: 6 - 12 | Duration of CFBISD summer vacation | Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except July 3) | Farmers Branch residents: $1,045 ($95/week) / Non-residents: $1,650 ($150/week)*
*Fees are subject to change if CFBISD changes start date of 2020-2021 school year. Financial assistance is available to those residents who qualify (limited quantity). Payments can be made in full or in installments with a credit/debit card.

Specialty Camps

Artchella Presents ARTvengers Camp | Farmers Branch Historical Park | 972.406.0184

Does your child love art and superheroes? Sign him or her up for a week-long experience of becoming a superhero with artist and DISD Art Teacher, Paloma Nadine! They’ll get to create a superhero cap and gadgets and will participate in other art activities! This camp sells out and space is limited. Register your child while you still can! Before and aftercare are also available for additional fees.

Artchella Goes West Camp | Farmers Branch Historical Park | 972.406.0184

Sign your child up to explore the wild west through art and outdoor activities at our Artchella Goes West Camp! This camp is led by artist and DISD Art Teacher, Paloma Nadine! Some of the art projects include making a bandana, dream catchers and terrariums. There will also be some fun outdoor activities to add to the wild west experience! This camp sells out and space is limited. Register your child while you still can! Before and aftercare are also available for additional fees.

Girls Make History | Farmers Branch Historical Park | 972.406.0184

The Historical Park will take your child on an adventure to meet girls from the past who have shaped America! With indoor and outdoor activities, this camp is designed to take your child on a journey through Tejas and the American Frontier and through the Civil War and World War II. Children will get to experience the lives of girls and their impact on American history.

Teen Programming

Junior Lifeguard Program | Farmers Branch Aquatics Center | 972.919.8720

The Junior Lifeguard Program introduces participants to the skills needed for entry to the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course.  Participants will learn communication and decision-making skills and the basic responsibilities of a lifeguard. The program does not certify participants in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. Participants must pass a basic swimming skills test prior to registration. Bring swimsuit, towel, change of clothes and lunch. Participants will have a chance to shadow guard during class.  A lunch break will be provided.

Junior Swim Instructor | Farmers Branch Aquatics Center | 972.919.8720

The Junior Swim Instructor Program introduces participants to the skills needed for entry to the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course. Participants will learn communication and learn the proper techniques of teaching swim lessons. The program does not certify participants in the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course. Participants must pass the basic swimming skills test on the first day of class. Bring swimsuit, towel, change of clothes and snack.

Water.Adventure.Leader.Knowledge Program (W.A.L.K) | Farmers Branch Aquatics Center | 972.919.8720

Sign up your teen up for two camps for a discounted price through our W.A.L.K. Program! He or she will go through one of the Junior Lifeguarding courses as well as the Junior Swim Instructor course. Each participant will learn the basic lifeguarding responsibilities one week and the following learn the proper techniques of teaching swim lessons all through safety in and around the water. Both camps will have the opportunity for participants to shadow actual lifeguards and swim instructors.

Program Description

Stewardship, teamwork, relationship building and leadership development are a few of the many skills teens will receive through our Tenn Leadership Program. There are weekly opportunities to serve the community at the City of Farmers Branch’s various facilities and parks. For those teens who complete 80 hours of service and remain in good standing with the program, there’s an end-of-summer lock-in! Teens also have the opportunity to participate in weekly field trips. The cost of the field trips are in addition to the program fee. The program fee includes a Teen Camp t-shirt as well as breakfast and lunch as available through CFBISD.

Residents can register March 2 | Non-residents can register starting on May 28 but only on Thursdays for the following week of the program. 

Ages 13 - 15 | Duration of CFBISD summer vacation | Monday - Friday  |  7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. | $15/weekly fee for residents, $40/weekly fee for non-residents
Teens must be in good stand with youth and teen programs and the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center to enroll.
