Grow Zones

Grow Zones are areas next to a creek or waterway that have a mixture of riparian vegetation. Riparian vegetation are plants that like to grow next to the creek.  They can handle periods of drought or periods of higher water in the creek.

Grow Zones help slow down, spread out and soak in rain water.

Healthy waterway buffers can -

  • Enhance property values and add to landscaping
  • Protect creeks from certain pollutants
  • Prevent erosion of soil and reduce flooding
  • Improve water quality
