With the motto of, "Caring Service... Proud Tradition," the Farmers Branch Fire Department has operated continuously since the incorporation of the City in 1946. The Farmers Branch Fire Department is responsible for:
  • Fire suppression
  • Emergency medical services
  • Rescue operations
  • Emergency management
  • Commercial fire safety inspections
  • Fire code enforcement
  • Building and site plan review
  • Fire and life safety programs
  • Fire investigations

ISO Class 1 Designation

The Farmers Branch Fire Department is 1 of 63 Texas Fire Departments and 1 of 300 National Fire Departments with a Class 1 designation. Effective December 1, 2018.FB_ISO_onNavyBackground_diecut


The Farmers Branch Fire Department is made up of three divisions: administration, fire operations, and fire prevention. The fire department currently maintains on-duty staffing for:

  • Two Paramedic Engines
  • One Paramedic Quint
  • One Paramedic Truck
  • Three Paramedic Ambulances
  • One Battalion Chief Unit
