You asked for it and doggone it, you got it!
The Barney Wood Football Field at Don Showman Park has been transformed into the Barney Wood Bark Park. The 1.44 acre Bark Park, located next to the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, has a large and small dog area. Each section has a doubled-gated entry, a splash pad, lighting, and ample seating.

Support Your Park
Donate to become a founding Friend of the Barney Wood Bark Park.
Farmers Branch Parks and Recreation is working diligently to increase the green space in our community. Your funding will support the beautification of our latest addition to our city in a park. All donations go straight to park amenities and beautification. Please note the images are conceptual. Staff will contact donors by early May regarding text for plaques. Donations are good for as long as the park is in existence. All donations are tax deductible.
Your donation provides a place to sit and relax while your dog is running safely within the park. You will receive a plaque displaying your name and/or your dog's name. You can choose either our City in a Dog Park bench option or a stone bench option.
Eliminating pet waste takes a well rounded approach. Your donation will allow us to install appropriate doggie waste stations around the park. You will receive a plaque displaying your name and/or your dog's name. City Staff will follow up with donors by early May regarding text for the plaque.
Donate $100 to become a founding member and get your name and/or your dog's name inscribed on a donor board at the front of the park. Your mission as a friend is to provide financial and physical assistance to the Barney Wood Bark Park.
All donations go straight to park amenities and beautification.
