100th Anniversary of the end of World War I exhibit on display in the lobby of City Hall. Be sure to check out the exhibit again in December to see newly added elements of the 1914 Christmas Truce on the Western Front. 

Veterans exhibit at the Senior Center on display during October and November.

Painting with Paloma - Acrylic Sunflower Still Life

Thursday, November 15 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Ages 16+

Let's paint a sun flower still life inspired by artist, Vincent van Gogh, with acrylics. You will learn various painting techniques, how to mix colors , and explore textures to create your own masterpiece! Artists will take home a 11" x 14" masterpiece on canvas. All skill levels are welcomed and encouraged!

Park After Dark – Discover the Historical Park After Dark!

Friday, November 16 from 7 to 9 pm 

Ages 21 and up 
Fee: $20 per person; space is limited and pre-registration required

Join us for a lesson in vintage cocktails by lantern light. Each vintage cocktail will be taught at a different structure throughout the Park, and you get to take home the recipe.

BBQ Workshop

Saturday, November 17 from 12 – 3 pm, at the Historical Park

Ages 21 and up 
Fee: $75 per person; space is limited and pre-registration is required.  

Whether you’re just starting out or have a smokin’ hot resume, you’ll certainly take your BBQ skills to the next level when you attend this workshop. Taught by an award- winning Texas pitmaster who will provide detailed, interactive  instruction: including choosing the right product, trimming, rubs and prep, wood selection, fire management, timing and slicing of the end product. Workshop includes barbecue lunch and refreshments.

Celebrate Thanksgiving in pioneer spirit at the Farmers Branch Historical Park! Sit in on a lesson at the School House, make old-fashioned crafts, participate in tasks essential to daily life in early Farmers Branch and discover what you’re thankful for. Junior Girl Scout badge, Playing the Past, is also available for individual scouts and troops. Meet badge requirements while seeing history through the eyes of a pioneer girl and learning how girls of the past lived, worked and played.

Drop & Shop:  Kids’ Craft Day – Christmas Presents 

Saturday, November 24 from 1 to 5 pm 

Ages 5 – 12 
Fee: $20 per child; space is limited and pre-registration required 

Join Samantha at the Dodson House for an afternoon of beautiful handmade gift making and wrapping of Christmas presents for your favorite people. Children will leave with four gifts ready for giving to parents, grandparents, teachers, friends, and more. Snacks and juice will be provided throughout the afternoon, but we encourage each child to bring a water bottle. #practicallyperfectinthepark
