100th Anniversary of the end of World War I exhibit on display in the lobby of City Hall. Be sure to check out the exhibit again in December to see newly added elements of the 1914 Christmas Truce on the Western Front. 


From Prairie to Posh: Christmas Structure Tours

Celebrate the season with family and friends during a guided tour of the “From Prairie to Posh” Christmas exhibit at the Historical Park. The exhibit offers a glimpse into the mid-late 19th century and spotlights how the average "citified" urban versus "country" rural family celebrated Christmas. Guests will be able to compare the similarities and differences in the decorations, gifts, entertainment and attire.

During the bustle of the season or the stillness of a winter day, take a moment to enjoy the new swinging bench in the Old Church garden. If you snap a picture, we ask that you use #fbhistoricalpark and share on social media.  


From Prairie to Posh Progressive Dinner  

Thursday, December 13 from 7 to 9 pm

Ages 21 and up   
Ages: $50 per person, space is limited and pre-registration required

Join the Historical Park and RVC Promotions for a special Pop Up Progressive Dinner.  Enjoy the beauty of the Park as you tour the “From Prairie to Posh” exhibit and enjoy courses along the way.

Jingle, Mingle and Gingerbread 

Friday, December 14 from 1 to 2:30 pm

Ages 3 and up  
Fee: $10 per person, space is limited and pre-registration required 

Calling all Christmas lovers! Help the Historical Park celebrate the season with gingerbread at the Dodson House. There will be jingling and mingling, a hands-on craft and enjoy hot cocoa and yummy snacks.  Parents be sure to bring your camera.

New Year’s at Noon  

Friday, December 28 from 10 am to 12 pm

Ages 5 – 12 (4 year olds are accepted, provided they have an older sibling present) 
Fee: $15 per child, space is limited and pre-registration required 

Instructor – Samantha Young   
Let your little ones celebrate the New Year at a reasonable hour. Join Miss Samantha for a morning of crafts, snacks, dancing and celebrating as we ring in the New Year at noon at the Dodson House!  Please note:  party snacks and juice will be provided, water bottles are encouraged.  Please contact the instructor if your child has food allergies. #practicallyperfectinthepark
