Welcome Girl Scout and friends for a day of outdoor exploration and artist creation with nature in the beautiful Historical Park. A snack will be provided, water bottles are encouraged. Non Girl Scouts will earn an Art patch.

Sunrise Yoga in the Park


Monday/Wednesday January 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30


Ages 16 and up 6:30 – 7:15 am
Fee: $40, 
Space is limited and pre-registration is required

Start your day off right with Yoga at the Farmers Branch Historical Park. Including balance, strength, flexibility and ending in a blessing. Bring your own mat, towel or blanket. Class will be held indoors in case of inclement weather.

Bird Walk


Saturday, January 19 from 9 to 10 am


Space is limited and pre-registration is required

Join the Farmers Branch Historical Park for an all-ages Bird Walk. The Bird Walk will be especially great for younger bird enthusiasts and kids of all ages. Guests are invited to bring binoculars, but are discouraged from bringing pets.

Saturday, January 19 from 10 am to 12 pm


Fee: $2 per cup

Make a pit stop at the Historical Park Service Station to fuel up on good vibes for the day. Share a beautiful morning in the Park with your friends and neighbors over a cup of joe, hot chocolate or apple cider. Baked goods, water and soft drinks also available for purchase.

HeARTs and Crafts: Valentine Card Workshop


Monday, January 21 from 10 am to 12 pm


Ages 5 – 12 (4 year olds are accepted, provided they have an older sibling present)  
Fee: $15 per child, space is limited and pre-registration is required

The History of… Lecture Series

Recommended for adults

This month’s theme will be the History of…The Negro Leagues. Join the Historical Park at the Old Church as we kick off the start of Black History Month with this lecture focusing on the interesting history of The Negro Leagues in baseball. Learn about local players like Jimmy Porter, see memorabilia and become acquainted with some of the best players in baseball history.
