Emergencies happen. Are you ready for when they do?
To be prepared is to learn how to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies as an individual, a family, and as a business. Preparedness is a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, and evaluating to ensure effective coordination during an emergency. Preparedness begins with recognizing the hazards or threats that you face and then making a plan to deal with those hazards. This plan then needs to be communicated with others and practiced to ensure that it is effective.
You should be prepared to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies in all aspects of your life; at home, at work, while driving, while traveling, etc. The good thing about preparedness is that you can teach yourself and your family how to think with a safety mindset that can be taken anywhere you go.
One of the most important pieces of preparedness is teaching others how to be prepared themselves. The more prepared individuals are in the public, the safer the City of Farmers Branch is as a whole.
